House Repairs

  • Rebuilding Annual Project Day: April 27, 2013
Volunteers, age 16 and older, are needed to assist with the home repair projects. No special skills are necessary, but skilled professionals or amateurs are especially welcome.
TIME COMMITMENT: Project Completion on Rebuild Day
  • House Leadership Teams
A House Leadership Team (HLT) is assigned to each house selected for repairs during the Rebuilding Weekend. This team is made up of a House Captain (or Co-Captains), a Volunteer Coordinator and a Materials Coordinator. The House Captain is responsible for evaluating the needs and planning the tasks that will be performed during the Rebuilding Weekend. The Volunteer Coordinator will assist the House Captain in determining the type and number of volunteers needed to complete the repairs and overseeing the volunteers. The Materials Coordinator will assist the House Captain in developing a list of materials needed and procuring such materials.
TIME COMMITMENT: 20-40 hours (primarily at your convenience) during the weeks before the April Rebuilding Project Days and approximately 16 hours during the Rebuilding Project Days.

Planning Committees

Although our primary project takes place in April, Rebuilding Together functions year-round and there is much behind-the-scenes activity in which volunteers can participate. We don't work just on our project workdays. We need to keep records, get donations of money and materials, manage our materials, plan events, track volunteers and many other activities. If you have any related skills, we can use them! You don't have climb a ladder or wield a paintbrush. If you can type, file, or charm donations out of businesses, you're just the volunteer we're looking for. Please get involved!

Time Commitment for committee involvement requires an average of 4-8 hours per month. This includes participation in committee meetings and board meetings as well as actual committee work.
